My husband and I got a good deal for 2 nights room only for £99 during the flash sale. Overall our stay was fairly positive. It was good value for money for what we paid, especially considering the location, however I don’t think I would pay full price for the room we got. It was fairly basic and in need of modernisation. Bed was comfortable but paint work, carpet and furniture was dated and tired. It was very clean which I am majorly fussy about! We ate in the restaurant which the first night was great but the second night, service was extremely slow. Food and drinks great and affordable. Would return if I got another cheap deal but definitely would of expected a bit more for the hype that I’d heard!
From the moment we arrived, we were looked after like royalty. The spa treatments were incredible - better than any I've had before - back massage and facial - everything else just melted away, it was amazing.Dinner - could not fault it at all and the service put a star on the A grade that this restaurant thoroughly deserves. Chicken wings to start, blue burger - the cheese was astounding and massive portions, creme brulee for sweet. All the staff were so attentive, specifically Tara I think her name was - only veen there a week and a half I'm told. She could not do enough for us and was so genuine in her excellent service. Will definitely be back a million times over!!
We stayed in Lusty-beg in mid-July. There were 2 families with 3 kids and we loved it. The trip started with the short ferry ride across to the island and the warm welcome in reception. We got our lodge keys and had a large wooden lodge with amazing views. The lodge was clean and modern with good amenities. We ate in the bar the first night and it was really good, better than I thought it was going to be based on some of the reviews. It's not a 5-star hotel and I wasn't expecting it to be, and the food was well priced and good quality. We cooked in our lodge for the remainder of the trip as we had some fussy (Gluten-free)eaters.For the rest of or trip, we explored the island and tried all the amenities. The kids loved the fairy trail which is one of the best I've experienced and came with a great booklet for them to write and keep track of the fairies. We also cycled the trails a few times as we brought our own bikes. The pool was great and the kids loved how relaxed the whole place was. We rented canoes and kayaked around some of the islands which were amazing. Its something everyone should try when they get there. I genuinely can wait to stay again.
We recently stayed for a 2 night break at Lusty Beg with my husband. I was a bit unsure with reading the negatives reviews, I wish I had of stayed at home.On our arrival to check in, we were greeted with a man behind the desk, he didn't want to be there, handed us the key and basically made us find the way ourselves to the room. We found the room fine, it was dusted over wouldn't say overly clean but fine! We decided to have dinner on the first evening. It was fresh food frozen and re heated. Not what we were expecting, once our starter plates lifted our dinner out within a split second. Second night, we thought to give it another chance it was far better, however, when we finished, the amount of staff members that walked past us and back again was ridiculous. I could sense that not too many staff member want to work. It took almost 20 mins from we finished for the plates to be lifted. (Over 10 staff floating about in the bar). Out plates finally lifted we thought we would sit for a while and listen to the music, it was like a children's disco, kids bouncing about the floor, not very relaxing when you come for a relaxing break. Staff in the spa were lovely, very friendly, We used the Swimming pool facilities, brrrrr the water is freezing, a few lengths of the pool we weren't long warming up.Good point: Fabulous views and walks around Lusty begs, I wont be in a hurry back which is unfortunate.
Im sorry I am only putting this on now, however we had a family trip here (9 adults) and we loved every minute of it. Half the group done clay pigeon shoot and off road driving and the other the pool and spa. All activities were recommended. As its on a wee island, it is the perfect location. The dinner was lovely, as was the breakfast the next morning. No issues what so ever. The evening live music in the bar was relaxing, with the bar staff even letting us play our giant HI or LOW game inbetween and after the music. Bar staff were great, and even at times joined in. They were all fantastic. The best part of service I have ever received (and why I feel bad im only writing this now) is the fact that once we were home my wife discovered she had lost a necklace. Re-tracing her steps she couldn't find it. A month later, someone from Lusty Beg contacted the organiser, and asked if someone had lost this necklace. Turns out it was that one. With huge huge sentimental value, the necklace only had my daughters first name and date of birth on the back. She wasn't even with us that weekend, so the fact the hotel had very little info and still managed to contact us it was brilliant. They then posted it out to us (at not charge!) and made sure we got it back. It wasn't overly expensive but meant so much. Thank you to everyone who helped get it back! Such good service and because of that we will be back!!
